Early Fall Mountainside
It rained for several days during my trip to North Carolina, but I didn't let that stop me from creating images. On the last day of my trip that was set aside for photography, I drove up the Blue Ridge Parkway to see if I could find any fall color at all. As in most of the other places I had been, the color was just starting. I noticed this hillside with a few colored trees. I pulled the car to the side of the road and composed this image under my umbrella. I'm quite happy with the way it turned out. The wet road and fog add interest to this scene.
