Fall Begins, Shining Rock
Here's another photo from my North Carolina trip from last year. I had hoped that my trip would coincide with the peak of fall color in the high elevations on the Blue Ridge Parkway, but fall came very late this year. There were only a few trees turning when I visited, which made for a nice contrast against the green shrubs and evergreens. This photo was made from beside a trail in the Black Balsam area, adjacent to the Shining Rock Wilderness.
